France’s Interior Minister, Bruno Retailleau, recently made strong accusations against Algeria. He claimed that the country is attempting to “humiliate” France by refusing to accept an Algerian influencer who was expelled from French territory. The individual in question, known as “Doualemn,” was sent back to Algeria after being detained for posting videos on TikTok urging his followers to harm a critic of the Algerian regime. Despite these actions, when France tried to expel him, instead of receiving him, Algeria promptly sent him back.
Retailleau expressed his concerns during a visit to Nantes, stating that “Algeria is seeking to humiliate France” and highlighting the escalating nature of their strained relationship. This event marks a worrisome turning point in Franco-Algerian relations.
